What is the correct Dosage for your HOODIA?
Start with 2 capsules per day, one capsule with a full glass of water before meals. Most of our customers, please see HOODIA Testimonials, report good success with 2 capsules per day.
A small percentage of customers report the need to increase dosage to 3-6 capsules per day of our Pure Hoodia Gordonii diet supplement for it to be most effective.
Hoodia is a genus of succulent Aloe plants, not cacti, in the family Apocynaceae that is widely used traditionally by the San people of Southern Africa, not only as an appetite suppressant, but also as a thirst quencher and as a cure for severe abdominal cramps, hemorrhoids, tuberculosis, indigestion, hypertension and diabetes.
Although the genus Hoodia is widespread in southern Africa, herbarium records indicate that Hoodia Gordonii only occurs in South Africa and Namibia. Any claims about other areas of distribution should be verified by a competent taxonomist.
Our pure products from our Raw Material Supplier, one of five in the world and the only one in North America, were issued the license by Western Cape Conservation Authority of South Africa and CITES to claim authenticity of 100% pure Hoodia Gordonii that come from farms which were granted a license to grow Hoodia for export. It not only protects the rights of the San people against being exploited, but it also protects the regulations in purity of ingredients against the impure and inferior filler products that flood the market. A Certificate of Analysis, which is easily obtained, does not automatically guarantee the ingredients are “authentic” or “pure”.
CITES is a UN- watchdog for endangered species, plants and animals and will not allow licensing claims (by Western Cape Conservation Authority of South Africa and CITES) to be made by them on any website, unless licensed!!

HOW DOES YOUR HOODIA Gordonii TRIM-FAST WEIGHT LOSS DIET PILL COMPARE TO OTHER BRANDS?
The market is currently flooded with Hoodia Gordonii diet pills and there are many claims being made that have not been substantiated. Buyer-beware!
There are basically 4 different types of Hoodia;
1. Wild Hoodia Gordonii from South Africa - This is 100% pure Hoodia Gordoni made by mother nature, discovered and eaten by the San Tribe of South Africa. They eat the Aerial Stem parts like a cucumber, which provides the appetite suppressant and other herbal benefits, and discard any pulpy leaf and flora parts. This is what goes into our 100% pure HOODIA TRIM-FAST product.
2. Outdoor / Greenhouse Cultivated Hoodia – Plants which grow outdoors have the added vitaminic benefit due to the Sun exposure just as the naturally occurring wild Hoodia plants do. Trying to grow a wild plant on farms, opens up a serious challenge, especially for the Hoodia plant that needs specific desert conditions. These farmers and growers are faced with all kinds of pests and diseases that they have to keep under control, in order for the plant to thrive. Recent droughts have limited re-issuing of Hoodia farm licenses.
3. Hoodia Extracts 20:1, 10:1 , 1:1 - The other thing about these extracts is that they claim to be 10:1 or 20:1 ratio of extract, and most claim 20:1. If you make a 20:1 extract it means you are taking 20kgs of that material to make 1, throwing away all but the active ingredient. That would make it a very powerful material.
However, when you extract, and there are many herbal extracts that are good, you
take away a lot of the supporting benefits, such as, the Aloe benefit, that I mentioned previously. Some plants have great supporting properties, but when they are extracted they are gone and some of the extracts don’t work as well without them.
The cost to make a 20:1 Hoodia Extract is prohibitive. You would use 20kgs to make 1, so you would throw away 19. If you buy Hoodia, let’s say, for $300.00/kg USD, you can multiply that 20kgs by 300.00/kg and the cost of that 1kg left would be 6000.00 USD. The cost for 1 x 60 capsule bottle of Hoodia would be 150.00 USD and they would not be able to sell it for under $200.00 per bottle.
20:1 and 10:1 Extracts Ratio claims, cannot support itself financially, if made of pure Hoodia Gordinii, unless otherwise filled with a host of additives.
4. Hoodia with fillers - containing other inexpensive ingredients. Recent black market Hoodia was confiscated as it was said to have sawdust as one of their fillers and not a trace of Hoodia. 100% pure Hoodia Gordonii, from wild Aerial Stem, is most effective as a stand alone diet supplement appetite suppressant, there is no need to add any chemicals or other additives. The San Bushmen simply eat the cucumber like Hoodia Gordonii plant stem, in very small quantities.
HOW DID RESEARCH INTO Hoodia Gordonii GET STARTED?
Due to the tradition of food use of Hoodia plants, certain species were included in a scientific research project established by the South African statutory council known as CSIR (Council for Scientific and Industrial Research) to screen a large number of bush foods. As part of the screening process, plants were made and tested for toxic effects. Surprisingly, it was observed that the 100% Hoodia Aerial stem, NOT from extracts, caused a decrease in appetite and body weight in animals.
DO ALL HOODIA PLANT SPECIES SUPPRESS APPETITE?
There are several Hoodia plant species that is said to have some degree of appetite suppressant in them, but ONLY the Hoodia Gordonii is the most potent and much sought after for weight loss in a diet pill. Hence, there are many inferior products out there. Hoodia products made from pulpy leaf, 20:1, 10:1 extracts or concentrates, have minimal effect, not only because it so diluted, but because all the other supporting ingredients, such as Aloe and other medicinal properties have been stripped away that makes Hoodia what it is. Processing kills any live living cells remaining in naturally dried Hoodia and in where the potency lie.
A good Hoodia product need to last longer than in between meals where 2 capsules per meal need to taken.
HAVE THE BENEFITS OF Hoodia Gordonii BEEN CLINICALLY PROVEN?
In 2001 Phytopharm completed a double blind, placebo-controlled clinical study in overweight, but otherwise healthy volunteers using Hoodia Gordonii. The larger doses of Hoodia caused a statistically significant reduction in the average daily calorie intake. In addition, a statistically significant reduction in body fat content was also observed compared to the placebo group after two weeks.

A proposal to include Hoodia on Appendix II has been submitted by the range states (South Africa, Namibia and Botswana) for review at the Conference of Parties in Bangkok, October 2004. Inclusion of Hoodia onto Appendix II of CITES will help ensure that all harvest operations and trade of Hoodia plant material are controlled at an international level in order to conserve indigenous plant populations within the range states.
IF Hoodia Gordonii IS RARE, IS THE SOURCE SUSTAINABLE?
